New regulations setting out the procedures and criteria for the submission and consideration of applications for environmental authorisations, as well as the lists of activities to which regulations apply, were published in the Government Gazette on Friday, 21 April 2006. The regulations will commence on 1 July 2006.

Bell Dewar Hall has, in collaboration with Andrew Johnstone of GCS (Pty) Ltd , scheduled a practical discussion to assist our clients in better understanding the procedures and impacts of the new regulations.

The discussions will focus on three areas:

  • implications for the mining sector;
  • the infrastructure, construction and development industry;
  • the pharmaceuticals, chemicals and manufacturing industry as a whole.
