Dion specialises in employment law, Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) and occupational health and safety.

He has particular expertise and experience in the negotiation and structuring of BBBEE transactions; the transfer of employees in mergers and acquisitions and outsourcing; the conduct of investigations, enquiries and inquests in occupational health and safety matters, particularly in the mining industry; and the resolution of disputes in the CCMA and Labour Court.

Dion also formulates and develops employment contracts, personnel policies and procedures and advises on the implementation of employment equity. He specialises in the resolution of labour disputes such as unfair discrimination, dismissals and unfair labour practices. He advises in collective bargaining and strike management, restructuring, outsourcing and re-organisation of the workplace, employment issues in mergers and acquisitions, employment related tax issues and the interpretation and application of employment statutes and labour law generally.
