Competition and Anti-trust

The competition group advises businesses to formulate and implement an effective competition law strategy. The firm acts for many global firms and their advisers in multi-jurisdictional merger approvals.

Recent substantial matters include the first South African excessive pricing dispute, a jurisdictional dispute before the Competition Appeal Court and applications under the Corporate Leniency Policy.

The group has expertise in advising in respect of compliance obligations, arising from take-overs, mergers and joint ventures; complaints concerning prohibited practices and the abuse of dominance; compliance audits and training, as well as advice on the impact of competition law on business strategy.
