APS is a community based printmaking studio situated in the Newtown Cultural Precinct. It has become a home studio and resource centre for artists from the surrounding townships and various areas around Johannesburg and offers training and skills development to financially under-served artists.
The people at Bell Dewar are passionate about South African art. Our in-house art collection reflects this passion. We also believe in the development of people who will become great artists. We therefore sponsor the tuition of art students at APS
For the past five years Bell Dewar has hosted an annual art exhibition showcasing, amongst others, artworks from the sponsored artists. We invite our
friends and clients to attend the exhibition and encourage them to support the artists by purchasing the art work or sponsoring students.
Our on-line art gallery - New Art and the Master Class - features artworks by APS students, profiles on the artists as well as an art gallery archive.
Bell Dewar has appointed an attorney to sit on the APS Advisory Board to give legal and other advice when necessary.
As part of our enterprise development initiative Bell Dewar holds an annual seminar at APS. Our lawyers present to the APS students on various legal issues relating to business. The following topics are presented: Copyright; Contract; Employment; Tax; The National Credit Act; Dispute Resolution; Entrepreneurship.
